SelfPay, Romania\u2019s self-service payment station market leader, recorded an exceptional financial performance last year, marked by a substantial increase in the company\u2019s net profit and EBITDA. At the same time, the company accelerated the development of the SelfPay Now mobile app, making significant strides towards transforming it into a super app, with a considerable increase in user numbers.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Thus, for 2024, the company reported a net profit of 32.2 million lei, nearly triple the result recorded in 2023 (10.8 million lei). This growth reflects both the continuous expansion of the SelfPay Payment Station network and the increasing adoption of the company\u2019s digital solutions.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

From an operational perspective, EBITDA also saw a strong increase, rising from 20.4 million lei in 2023 to 45.4 million lei in 2024 (up 122.5% from the previous year).<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The data is currently unaudited. The final results will be reported by the company to the Bucharest Stock Exchange at the end of April 2025. SelfPay SA has been listed on the stock market since 2021, following a corporate bond issuance maturing in 2026.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The SelfPay Now App records exponential usage growth<\/span><\/i><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

A key factor for last year\u2019s positive results were the results of the SelfPay Now mobile app, which integrates a host of innovative features: the <\/span>Cash Deposit<\/span><\/b> feature, a first in Europe, which allows users to deposit cash onto their bank cards in real-time, offering instant money transfers (both between users\u2019 cards and a single user\u2019s own cards) and an <\/span>open banking<\/span><\/b> implementation that allows users to check their balance and transaction history. At the same time, the SelfPay Now app also operates as an integrated service hub facilitating the free payment of local taxes and utility bills.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Thus, the total number of app users grew by <\/span>113.8% in 2024 compared to 2023<\/span><\/b>, reaching approximately <\/span>604,000<\/span><\/b> in 2024.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Similarly, the number of transactions processed through the app rose significantly, from <\/span>1.5 million in 2023 to 3.3 million in 2024<\/span><\/b> (+113.4%).<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The total value of transactions processed through the app also saw an impressive increase, approaching the one-billion-lei mark (<\/span>912 million lei, up 98.7% in 2024 compared to 2023<\/span><\/b>).<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

At the end of February 2025, SelfPay Now will celebrate three years since its official launch, a milestone highlighting the app\u2019s maturity and strength in the digital services market.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Expansion of the network and growth in total transaction volume<\/span><\/i><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

During the same period, the <\/span>SelfPay Payment Station network continued its significant expansion<\/span><\/b>, reaching <\/span>12,000 units in 2024<\/span><\/b>, compared to approximately <\/span>10,700 in 2023<\/span><\/b>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The development of the Payment Stations\u2019 footprint has supported an increasing volume of transactions processed through the company\u2019s terminals: thus, the <\/span>total number of transactions exceeded 43 million in 2024<\/span><\/b> (+19.5% over 2023).<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The total value of transactions processed by SelfPay grew by <\/span>27.9% in 2024 compared to the previous year, reaching 1.35 billion euros<\/span><\/b>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Strong revenue growth<\/span><\/i><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
